This weekend, 7th & 8th February, sees the return of the Loughborough Wheelchair Tennis Open, the first tournament of the year on British Development Series Wheelchair Tennis Tour.

This tour is where future Paralympians tend to start out and former world ranked players continue competing once their time on the international circuit has come to a close meaning the standard is usually very high.

The event is expected to attract 12-16 players from around the country, with a number of localy players involved as well, and play will start 9am Saturday and Sunday mornings and runs until 5pm on Saturday and runs until the tournament’s conclusion on Sunday.

The event, held at the university’s Dan Maskell Tennis Centre and run our team at Inside Out Tennis, will be preceded by a wheelchair coaching clinic on Friday 5.30-7pm and will be staffed our local coaches, juniors and volunteers from Loughborough Lawn Tennis Club.
