About Us How We Came to Be! Inside Out Tennis was formed by Martyn Whait and Jonny Rudge in January 2008 and is based at Loughborough Lawn Tennis Club. Martyn had worked at the club for around 18 years and Jonny for 3 years. The existing coaching team were maintained much to the delight of both of them and is constantly being added to as they now look to offer a more complete tennis package at the club. Looking to the Future A big item on the agenda for the LTA is competitive opportunities for our players. As soon as we formed we created a comprehensive tournament programme for all different levels of player, beginning in July 2008 and this has been under constant review for expansion. We also welcomed back our week-long Grade 4 Junior Tournament at LLTC in August 2009 and aim to expand this year on year. Easter 2009 saw us join up with Quorn L.T.C. to provide their coaching programme as well. This is a really exciting development for us as we see Quorn as a club with great potential in an outstanding setting and we feel we can bring great success to their club having helped secure them multiple new members on the first open day alone! We also aim to support a year-round programme with Quorn who have largely been a summer club until now. We are looking to further links with local schools, disability groups and other clubs in the area to provide a complete tennis experience for anyone interested in taking up the sport. If you know a school or diability group or school who are missing quality tennis coaching or competition from their calendars then please let us know and we can look into developing links. What You Might Not Always See! We also assist Tennis Leicestershire (the county LTA office) wherever possible, having helped provide players for LTA run coaching courses, and we have a number of current and former players accessing coaching at the LTA Academy on the Loughborough University campus who are now producing great results which has partly helped Loughborough as a whole to be named a 'Tennis Hotspot' by the LTA! Inside Out Tennis are committed to developing their team further and we have already helped a number of our former junior players achieve their UKCC Level 1 Coaching Badge (formerly the Tennis Assistants award). We also help a number of players from outside our club complete the experience they require to complete further coaching qualifications. We are always looking for more players to go down this route and help them in to coaching if they have an interest in it. We work closely with the University to gain access to some of the best players and up and coming coaches to the benefit of everyone at Inside Out Tennis and our clubs! We like to think that our experience in various areas can prove beneficial to those training to become the coaches of the future as we like the idea of recruiting people we know well and can rely on. We're always there to offer advice on career development in tennis and happy for aspiring coaches to gain good experience on court with us. So if you see somebody on court with the coaches who look new to the club, chances are they're a trainee coach. Go and say hello because you may see a lot more of them in the future! Niall Bruce is also a trained tennis referee which allows for higher grade tournaments to be held at our clubs in the future and his reputation for running great tournaments is growing all the time! If you'd like to know any more about Inside Out Tennis then take a look at the other pages on this site, if you still have any questions then feel free to contact us and we hope to see you on the courts soon!
